Stonehenge Construction

6 Year Old: "Mom, we learned about Stonehenge in afterschool"
Me: "What is that?"
6 Year Old:  "It is a formation of rocks, that are very large.  It is in the middle of nowhere in England.  No one is sure how it was made.  Natives believe that giants made the rock formations, but scientists today do not believe it was giants, but rather that it was man made.  It is as big as the cafeteria.  I wonder how the men got
the big rocks there?  They must have used a lot of men to build that"
He had me cracking up at the 'scientists today' line.  I love my little man, so curious about the world.

6 year old removing his Band-Aid in the bathtub.  "Mom, I am letting the water soak for a few minutes, then pulling it off some, then letting the water soak more, then pulling it off a little more... I am using an A-B pattern to remove the Band-Aid"

Toilet - Part 2

Caught the 4 year old lifting the tank lid off the toilet this morning before he flushed. (Reference 04/13/2013
post - Answer: 12 days.)  Me: 'What are you doing?'  Him: "Mom, I wanted to see it work".  I can't say I blame him.  I told him that we only do that when it is broken, but he did not look convinced.  I better find the part number for the new tank lid for when he eventually drops it on the tile floor.

The six year old and I were discussing opposites in the car the other day.  I asked him what his favorite
pair of opposites was.  His answer: "fiction and non-fiction, because I like both kinds of stories" ...good choice!

Question of the day from the six year old:  "Mom - Singapore is a city and country, and Rhode Island is the
smallest state. Which is larger Singapore or Rhode Island?"   So, we looked it up for those interested, Rhode Island: 1214 square miles and Singapore: 272
square miles.  Even though I was fortunate enough to visit Singapore a couple years ago, I didn't realize comparatively how small it was, learned something
new today.  We sould look up more of these so he can build some general country and state size compa

Toilet - Batteries Not Included

Just taught the 4 year old how to fix the toilet chain.  Had to clarify that no, the toilet does not use
batteries, and changing batteries is not always the solution to a non-functional item.  He looked a bit too interested in the fact that there was water and a
lever arm inside the toilet tank, let's see how long until he is 'fixing' it himself.
